Alvin Williams (Sun)

ALVIN WILLIAMS

It’s hard to be likable when you’re being brutally honest, but Alvin Williams has found a way, and he’ll show you for a small fee.  From the little things in life that truly matter, to the big issues that shouldn’t matter at all, Williams finds the funny in all the places you forgot to look.  Whether it’s current events, relationship advice, family life, or pop culture, you won’t know which direction he’s headed next, you’ll just be glad you took the ride with him.

Born in Chicago, IL, Alvin shared his childhood between Illinois, Tennessee, Colorado, Oregon, Louisiana, and Idaho (yes, Idaho), making him a “native son” in many of his performance destinations.  Growing up he learned to rapidly adapt to his ever-changing environment by turning strangers into friends through laughter, a skill that is noticeably on display as soon as he hits the stage.  He has wasted no time making his presence felt on both the national and international comedy circuit with a non-stop tour schedule that spans the entire United States and Canada to his credit.  In 2008 he hosted the inaugural Mile High Comedy Festival in Denver, CO.  Later that year he became the recurring host of the Shades of Black Show, a multi-cultural talent showcase that tours college campuses across the U.S.  Alvin can now be heard on the new Audible Channels series Sounds Like America, and is featured on Hulu in the shows  Comedy Brew and Quicklaffs. He is also a 7-time Featured Comic on the viral video network Comedy Time TV.

Shawn Pelofsky (Sat 10pm)

SHAWN PELOFSKY

This sassy female will blow you away with her physical comedy and high energy. If Joan Rivers and Bette Midler were to have a love child, then this would be your comic for hire. Shawn will take you on a wild ride with her outrageous impersonations and knowledge of pop culture. Her ability to nickname and work a crowd will have you in hysterics. Once you “Stretch it Out” with Shawn Pelofsky, you will never stop.

Shawn was born one out of only ten Jews in Oklahoma. Performing since the age of eight, it’s only natural that Shawn decided to pursue a career in comedy. She attended the University of Southern California and received a B.A. from The School of Theater. During her time at USC, she joined an improvisational group “Comedius Interruptus” which became her motivating force to train at The Groundlings.

During her time at ACME, Shawn flourished in the field of stand-up comedy culminating with her current status as a paid regular at The World Famous Comedy Store. When she’s not touring or performing for our troops in places like Afghanistan, Bosnia, Bahrain and Guantanamo Bay, Shawn performs weekly on their infamous Main Room stage. Adding to her many comedic accolades, Shawn has been featured in The Montreal “Just for Laughs” Comedy Festival and in the all female hit comedy tours Pretty Funny Women, Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad and The Hot Tamales produced by Eva Longoria. She has opened up for greats such as Richard Lewis, Robert Klein and Bill Maher and written for comedic legend, Joan Rivers on Fashion Police.

Shawn has given the comedy competition circuit a run for its money as a finalist for "The Funniest Woman in Orange County" and in Comedy Central’s “Laugh Riots”. Her television and film credits include "Community" (NBC), "Lip Service" (Showtime), "Chelsea Lately" (E!), "The Gossip Queens" (LOGO), "Pretty Hurts" (LOGO), "Comics Unleashed" (ABC), "Weather Gone Viral" (The Weather Channel)Pauly Shore’s "Minding the Store" (TBS), "Last Comic Standing" (NBC),  and "Free Enterprise" starring William Shatner. Emmett Montgomery (Sun)

Emmett Montgomery

This comedian/storyteller who was made in Utah but has lived in Seattle for most of the 21st century and been failing beautifully on and off the stage for over a decade. When he is not wandering the country telling jokes and falling in love with America, he produces local shows that focus on building community, pushing the limits of what it means to be a performer and celebrating the unique beauty of the city he lives in (Weird and Awesome with Emmett Montgomery, The Magic Hat).

Emmett was part of the top 100 in NBC’s Last Comic Standing Season 9 (2015) and was voted Seattle Weekly’s Best Comic of 2015 and named one of City Arts Magazines Artists of 2015. Steve Hofstetter (Mon)

STEVE HOFSTETTER

Author, columnist, and comedian Steve Hofstetter is often called the hardest working man in show-business. With all due respect to the late James Brown.

Hofstetter's national TV debut came on ESPN's Quite Frankly, where Stephen A. Smith yelled at him for three minutes. Hofstetter has also appeared on CBS' "Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson", Showtime's "White Boyz in the Hood", VH1's "Countdown", Sundance's "On the Road in America", and ABC's "Barbara Walter's Special", where he thankfully did not cry. He is the host and executive producer of "Laughs" on Fox networks, where he only cries occasionally.

One of the top booked acts on the college circuit, the original writer for collegehumor.com has also released six albums. Hofstetter has written humor columns for the New York Times, SportsIllustrated.com, and NHL.com, where he publicly admitted to being a Ranger fan.

After hosting Four Quotas on Sirius Satellite Radio for two seasons, Hofstetter moved to broadcast radio, and his Sports Minute (Or So) was syndicated on over 170 stations and in over 30 newspapers. Hofstetter's second live comedy album ("Cure For the Cable Guy") reached #20 on Billboard's comedy charts. His third album ("Dark Side of the Room") was the first ever pay-what-you-want" comedy album, since people were going to steal it anyway. His fourth album consisted of an hour of 100% ad-libbed material, which is, frankly, nuts. And his fifth album hit #1 on iTunes' comedy charts, which is also a bit nuts.

Hofstetter's brutal tour schedule consists of over 100 colleges and dozens of clubs every year, and is fueled by an immense online popularity, tons of press, and a Prius with great gas mileage. He reached 200,000 friends on Facebook and 400,000 more on MySpace, and high shelves in grocery stores.

While Hofstetter's live shows are routinely sold out, he is best known for his writing, first published at age 15, mainly to impress girls. At 18, he co-founded "Sports Jerk of the Week", an irreverent website featured by press like USA Today's Baseball Weekly, Sports Illustrated and CNN. And at 20, Hofstetter took a year off of school to head up web content for the New York Yankees. The Yankees won the World Series that year, which would have been wonderful if they hadn't beaten Hofstetter's Mets. Yes, he's also a Mets fan. Poor kid.

While an undergraduate at Columbia University, Hofstetter was a well-read columnist for the Columbia Daily Spectator and a voice of the Lions. After a summer writing for Maxim, ESPN, and Sports Illustrated for Kids, Hofstetter syndicated his column in several newspapers.

Without his glasses, Hofstetter also looks a great deal like Michael Rappaport.
